So for my first Live Journal I have decided to write about my friend Jaime's Move-In Day! How exciting!!
So Jaime has decided to move out with her host family to live with her sister in an apartment in Tokyo. So who comes and help her move in!? PAUL! NAOMI! and NAS! So Naomi came all the way from Tokyo to Machida (very nice of her) to help Jaime, Nas and I carry HUGE bags full of her stuff. It was quite an adventure lugging a 50 pound bag up stairs and escalators in train stations not to mention that we had pack packs and duffel bags around us. So after an hour and a half train ride, we finally arrive in Nakamura Minami (that's in Nerima-ku)! The area around Nakamura is nice and seems to be very residential. Jaime's new place is pretty cool too. It kind of makes me want to get my own place too; it has two bedrooms, (or actually two tatami rooms) bathroom, kitchen washing machine etc. and it was all completely stock. That was pretty cool and it was really nice inside too. I still could not believe that the entire apartment was FULLY stock; beds, couch, desk, kitchen table, chairs, silver wear, plates utensils etc. It was pretty awesome. And the people that own the whole entire apartment building were really nice and helped out a lot. Good LUCK Jaime!!
So for te rest of the day, we helped Jaime get settled in her apartment. We went out to lunch and the grocery store and the drug store. Well actually, I helped Jaime a lot with the grocery shopping and going to the drug store and all while Naomi and Nas really did not do much in my opinion. While I was helping Jaime look for some salt and rice, Naomi and Nas were sitting down on their fat asses outside eating ice cream. Good team work people. O yea, they left early too. I knew Nas did have some former plans to go out with her host family for a Christmas party so that was understandable. But I wonder why Naomi had to go home early? So those two people left and so Jaime and I continued shopping in Nakamura. Unfortunately, I decided to go home too after we went to the 100 yen store which was right next to a train station. SORRY JAIME FOR LEAVING a little bit earlier than I had planned!
So getting home turned out to be pretty fun. When I arrived at Shinjuku, I got lost. I thought I knew how to get out of the train station to get to the Odakyu Line, turned out that I did get out of he train station, just outside on the wrong side. Later, I discovered that I was at the East Exit, which I did not know existed and I was totally on the opposite side of the train station that I needed to be on to get back to Machida. So back into the station I went and eventually, let's say 10 minutes or so, I found a sign that did say Odakyu Line. So while I was waiting for the train from Machida to pick me up, I was looking at another sign on the platform and stupidity fell over me. Shinjuku station is three stories tall and I was on the first floor the entire time looking for the South exit. Well if you want to get to the South exit, you must be on the second floor. DER!!! 3 STORIES TALL!! But you know what made that up? The Rapid Express came and took me back to Machida. I only stopped at three stops the whole entire time.
